Electric Rabbit Fencing

Electric Rabbit Fencing Cheshire

Electric fencing for rabbits

Electric fencing offers an excellent temporary solution to prevent gardens and crops from the destruction of rabbits. There are two options available – electric rabbit netting and electric wire, each having their own benefits and both available from Suddenstrike Fencing.

Our fencing team serves Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire & surrounding areas as far as North Wales, Liverpool & Manchester. We have many years of experience of supplying and installing a wide range of fencing, we ensure our electric rabbit fencing is installed and maintained correctly for efficient and long lasting use.

Electric rabbit netting

Electric netting is the ideal method for keeping rabbits out of gardens and larger areas such as crop fields. The net is manufactured from polyurethane with metal filaments running through the horizontal strands (apart from the bottom baseline). This is then secured to PVC posts. To ‘charge’ the net, an energiser is connected to the net and the ground via an earth stake. This forms an open circuit and, when rabbits come in to contact with the net and ground, it completes the circuit causing them to get a charge from the net. This is why the net itself does not need to be installed in a loop and can be installed in a straight line if required. The energiser produces a high voltage pulse approximately once every second and, once the animal has been shocked, the net will be a sufficient enough psychological barrier that the animal will be unlikely to attempt to breech the fence again.

Electric rabbit netting is available in 50m rolls containing 14 posts, four corner guys, 13 ground pins and a repair kit, this can be supplied and installed by Suddenstrike Fencing if required.

Electric wire system

An alternative to electric rabbit netting is an electric wire system. This is composed of four or six lines of electrified polywire or galvanised steel wire which is then supported by either plastic or steel posts. This solution is more suitable to agricultural uses where large areas of crops and cereals need protecting, rather than a domestic garden.
